Still Taking My Time

While I’m slowly melting away in the sudden summer heat – normally an unheard of phenomena here in Denmark, but just a sign of the times – I’ve also been keeping on adding to my modular terrain boards. Recently, I finally got some various scatter materials from Woodland Scenics, including some of their scenic glue which rocks!

Could I have made it myself? Yes. Did I want to? Not really. So I spent the money needed for the convenience and kept on enjoying myself during this project. I am not going to say that you can’t be frugal about this – you absolutely can! But when it is at the cost of enjoyment, such as the case would be for me, then I fully recommend getting pre-made stuff.

Anyway, enough ranting – above you can see how far I’ve come with the set! I’ve made the forest tiles as modular as possible, so they can either form one big forest, or possibly be spread out a bit to the sides of the board. Next up is to continue making some more of those pine-tree bases that I’ve included in the pictures here.

My next port of call for this will be to look into how many roads I need for the layout to be flexible enough for my needs, and also how to make some areas suited for buildings and what not. But that’s for another day, hopefully one where I can manage more pictures and not melt away in front of the keyboard!
